3D printing opens up new possibilities for working with standard implant materials. Researchers
in Australia have demonstrated a process for 3D printing stents made of nitinol. A shape
memory alloy that returns to its original geometry after deformation. The material is already
used for arterial stents. But the ability to apply it with 3D printed dental implants could allow
for the production of more sizes and configurations.
