This is called Parental Alienation Syndrome, and it is devastating to both the children and the alienated parent.
I don't know if your interest in this subject is more from a support perspective, or if you have personal experience with this, but just this morning I sent an email to the Webmaster of Curezone asking to have a support forum added for PAS to support both fathers and mothers who are victims.
I have lost 4 children to PAS ... I have not seen any of them in four years. Oh, and one of them has committed suicide, so I guess I qualify for this forum also. The only children out of my six whom I see from my marriage are my two smallest, because they were simply too young to be subject to the emotional warfare.
And, just in case some try to say that there is no PAS and it is all the fault of the alienated parent, not one single relative in my entire clan has seen the children ... they lost grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins ... ALL of whom had a close relationship before the divorce.
If you or any others are interested in a PAS forum to share stories, and support each other, please send email to the Webmaster to that effect.
