Re: Vitamin E enema Procedure
Hi Sheldon
I have been diagnosed recently with Colitis but have not yet
accepted any treatment. I have tried to increase antioxidants
and take extra Vit E but have had loose stools for the last 3 months.
Regarding the enema procedure. How did you decide how to increase the vit E. Why not use 10 capsules straight away instead of building up as this seems very little in volume.
I havent tried it yet as I am trying other dietary approaches
but last year when I had a problem I would sometimes use a
liquorice or oak bark enema or a cup of sunflower oil as recommended in a ayurveda book. This seemed to help with the constipation which caused bleeding in the sigmoid or rectum
but I have not done this recently as I not sure if it actually
helped though I was free from symptoms for 3 months last year.
I had been using applesaucewith nutmeg and apple juice as this was also recommended in the ayurveda book.I am not sure about cutting out all fruit Pectin in apples seems to be fine as long as cooked. I am using psyllium now for a week to reduce the looseness.
Your diet is not clear to me. How much fish and chicken do you eat. I eat tofu . You do not say what food to specifically avoid
Is psyllium ok as this seems to mop up the fluid and makes the stools less watery
I intend to try the Vitamin E soon but want to be sure of the correct diet
I am not sure about the distilled water. I dont have a distiller
or a filter but I live in West Wales where the water is probably cleaner tha a city. would filtered water do?
