Re: What is an Enema?

Hi Matt
An enema is the cleansing of the colon or large intestine. It involves the injection of a solution into the rectum to soften the feces, distend the colon and rectum, and thereby cause the easy emptying of the bowel. An enema is often given for relieving constipation, cleanse the colon or part of a body detoxification program.

Enemas are an important part of a congestion cleansing detox. They release old, encrusted colon waste, discharge parasites, freshen the G.I. tract and make the cleansing process easier and more thorough. Enemas accelerate any cleanse for optimum results. They are especially helpful during a healing crisis, after a serious illness to speed healing, or to remove drug residues. Migraines and skin problems like Psoriasis are relieved with enemas. Adding herbs to the enema water serves to immediately alkalize the bowel area, control irritation and inflammation, and provide healing action to ulcerated or distended tissue.

The solution most commonly used is a mixture of mild soap and approximately a liter or two of warm water that is placed in a container with a flexible tube and enema nozzle. The end of the nozzle will be lubricated and inserted into the rectum, after which the solution will be slowly administered.
