Why is rice milk high in sugar?

I bought rice milk, thinking it would be a good
food choice (plus I can't stand the taste and texture
of soy which is high in fat grams and estrogens), but
reading the carton tonight I saw that plain rice milk
has 11 grams of Sugar in it.

Where is the Sugar coming from? The ingredients are
brown rice, oil, water and Sea Salt .

Does anyone have any information about this?
