I just recently heard about rose geranium essential oil may be a natural tick repellent. Last year I was covered in ticks after walking in the fields, dozens fell out of my hair alone and I'm not sure how they got there. I wore socks over my pants, but forgot to wear a cap. I spent over an hour to rid myself of them and even a few days later I was still checking every itch, though none in my ears. There are a couple of ways to make the repellent either diluting with vodka for a spray on, or with carrier oils like almond or coconut for a rub on. If applying to animals or pets need to be cautious as some web sites say cats could be vulnerable to some essential oils. Any other ideas on how to repel ticks would be nice as there are too many ticks around here. This year I want to be prepared when entering tick territory.
