I kept a matchbox full mercury in my bedroom as a teenager, a lot ended up on the carpet as I recall. Suffered obvious effects of mercury poisoning then and long after. Also mouthful of Amalgam before I was 18. Suffered from Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome in varying degrees ever since but not UC till I was 40 oddly, but that may've been connected to dental work at the time, and over 20 years of chronic poisoning of course.
