I wanted to add too, that my daughter became severely allergic to everything after getting the Mirena (food, environment, medications) she went to several allergists, after experiencing chronic/severe 'anaphylactic episodes' hives/difficulty breathing/flushing/throat swelling/nose bleeds, and at times was having to use her EPI pen on a daily basis and had to go to the ER for emergency allergy treatment probably 20 or more times in a one year period. They ruled out mast cell disease and did all allergy testing, and came to the conclusion that this too was most likely caused by the Mirena. Looking back now, we would much rather have to deal with the anyphylaxis episodes rather than the severe neuro problems that it has caused since then. As bad as the allergy attacks were it is nothing compared to what we are dealing with now. Tweet
