The maple syrup in the Master-Cleanse has a lot of calories that can add up if you don't pay attention, so you could of been drinking more calories than you thought, depending on how much syrup you used.

I tried the salt water flush once and it didn't do anything, except make me retain a lot of water because of the salt.

Try eating just raw fruits and vegetables for a week, and you will feel good and lose a lot of weight, but it can be just as hard as fasting if you are used to eating processed foods.
