Re: Addressing Ulcerative Colitis Naturally

Although this article is titled addressing ulcerative colits naturally. I would say taking supplements like Colloidal Silver , magnesium, and folic acid are not any more natural than potassium Iodide which I found of great benefit. So I would add Iodine or potassium Iodide as essential supplements. Taking them in large amounts as I did can't be considered natural but neither can large amounts of Colloidal Silver . In any case I think taking some Iodine as a supplement is essential.

Another thing that is ommitted is the importance of high magnesium foods in the diet. These work far better than supplements in my experience. A diet containing large amounts of spinach and sunflower seeds has helped a lot of people into remission since it was first suggested on another forum. My diet also included ground seeds and nuts as well as some spinach at the time I used potassium Iodide to get into remission again. I didn't use as much of those foods as some have used but I'm sure they played a part.

I now make sure I eat these foods regularly.
Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and almonds are what I mainly use and I lightly pan roast them and grind them into a fine powder to get the maximum nutrition. Anyone with active colitis should do this to avoid hard pieces irritating the colon unless they can chew them very well,
or another option is to buy seed butter but that often contains sugar. Seeds are also aa excellent source of vitamin E. Spinach is also a rich source of magnesium and other nutrients and the frozen kind is cheap and easy to use

Id also add vitamin D when sun exposure isn't enough. I take 10,000 IUs all winter and the rest of the year when there's not enough sun.
