I'm a bit erratic taking vitamin C now but I try to get as much as I can from food and herbs. I took it continuously at about 3g a day for a while when I started with iodine. Basically if I have the chemistry right you get sodium ascorbate when you mix ascorbic acid with bicarb and the CO2 offgasses leaving a less acidic solution depending on how much bicarb you add. You just have the addition of sodium with the same amount of vitamin C
You may find that you don't have the same effect from the coconut oil when you take iodine
