I have had mild FBD and a cyst on my left ovary (endometrioma), also a diagnosis of endometriosis and after a lot of reading and research last year I started taking Iodine
with the companion nutrients and salt loading. Before starting I did the Iodine
loading test which came 64%, now I have been taking Iodine
for over a year and recently did the loading test again and came 66%. I am really baffled as I would have expected that the level would have gone up at least a bit. Here I have to add that before I also did a halides test which came low so I wouldn't suspect them for low absorbtion. I started low (6,25mg) and gradually increased to 50mg which I kept on. First I was taking Iodoral and in the last half a year I switched to Lugols.
I haven't checked the cyst but something that I can say is different is the lumpiness and pain in my breasts that has improved a lot, I sometimes have no pain at all before my period and the lumps are gone.
So now I am wondering, is it possible that my body has been using so much iodine and still needs more for the loading test level to go up?
Should I be taking more than 50mg per day? Could Iodoral and Lugols
have different absorbsion?
I would be grateful to read your views and any similar experiences you might have had.
