Now I've upped my Iodine intake to 100mg my Lugols bottle is detaining rapidly. What with companion supps, healthy eating etc. I'm looking for a cheaper way to get my iodine. Anyone got any decent sites in the UK what's I can get some. My last bottle was 15gbp and that lasts me about half a month.
Yes this saved me a lot of money; and I believe I have mentioned the site before, thanks to you Jonsher; hows life?
My "reason of purchase" is that I use it for photographic development / art. Kind of true.
Hi Gina, life is pretty good. I'm still taking what the doctor recommends. Dr Brownstein that is. No doctor round where I live would recommend it.
That's an interesting reason you gave, I thought it had to be a medical reason but I don't think they are bothered what you put really, I guess they just have to ask for legal reasons.
Thanks for the reply. So at 5% i would get how much Iodine per ml? One thing I've never taken into account is the Iodine and potassium iodide. Should I be taking 100mg of Iodine per day or iodine AND potassium Iodide combined?
lugols 5% is a solution of 5% elemental and 10% KI(potassium iodide). it is figured by the drop to be approximately 6.25mg of total iodine. that is 2.5mg of elemental and 5mg of KI. the Iodine content of 5mg of KI is 3.75mg. so Lugols is reckoned by total Iodine content: 2.5 + 3.75 = 6.25.
when i take 13 drops of SSKI it equals 390mg of KI. 97.5mg of that amount is potassium, so the total Iodine content of my 13 drops is 390 - 97.5 = 292.5mg of total iodine as is figured in lugols.
thats a right good amount. anything under 300mg of Lugols is easy to do. you just feel free to find your comfort zone in there. i got a lot of traction in my first year when i got up to 300mg of lugols. i felt like it was turning the tide in my body to a healthier state. nothing has happened to change that perception and we are on our fifth year here.
