According to the ideal body measurements calculator from the Sandow Museum http://www.sandowmuseum.com/ideal.html these are my 'ideal' body measurements:
abs- none stated... I would like to have a flat stomach. When I achieve that, I'll be happy.
So as you can see, I don't have many inches to lose and gain. I found this method to be more reliable than weighing myself. Weigh ins make me psycho obsessed about my body image. Watch the reactions of contestants on Celebrity Fit Club when one doesn't lose weight. The doctor says well you could be losing fat and inches BUT at the end, the guy says 'The scales don't lie' in very drammatic fashion. I know that my menses is due this weekend and I don't feel bloated (yet). We women suffer on the scales around the time of our moon cycle. I am going to use this weekend to work through my issues with the scale and also why I'm intimidated by food. Boy I remember being in WW and thinking to myself. I hate this stuff. I feel like a trained puppy dog waiting for my reward for losing pounds every week, waiting for affirmation that I'm a good person and feel all warm and fuzzy. Well SCREW WARM AND FUZZY.
Some of other markers of health I'm monitoring are:
my resting pulse
my casual activity pulse
how often I get a stuffy nose (I live in a basement with some dust)
how often I come down with a fullblown cold
bloating, cramping and the flow of blood during my menses
I don't have a BP cuff but the last time I had it measured it was 100/90 or so. It must be in the toilet now with the exercise and garlic.
More on this later...I'm off to clean the basement!
