Swimming, especially during warm months, can be relaxing and a great form of exercise. The low-impact nature of exercising in water makes going for a swim gentler on your joints while being an efficient cardio workout. Many people who enjoy a dip in the pool opt to swim laps, but other water exercise options may work better for you. Activities, such as walking in the pool, water aerobics or underwater weight training, can all be great options for people of varying health and fitness. Just make sure that you remember to stay hydrated and listen to your body, just as you would while exercising on land.
