The Miracle Healing Power of Gratitude

Date: 4/26/2017 9:19:45 AM ( 5 y ) ... viewed 1138 times In 1981 my sister invited me to be of support to her for her home birth expected in June. I hitched hiked to where she and her partner and first born son were "camped" in a trailer in Glamis, California the reportedly "sand dune capital of the world". To make a very long story short (for now) shortly after her baby was born I had an encounter with her partner who informed me that he had a gun and that he would not hesitate to use it with me in mind which I felt seriously intimated hearing that and the very next morning before the hot desert sun rose - I left!
For years I had resentment about the encounter. I also had regrets that after my sister had left him (about two years latter) that I didn't intervene and be an outer authority for my sister as well as deflect the pleadings coming from the former partner who wanted my sister back. (There is more to this that I believe is connected to my sister's final crossing of the threshold but once again I am choosing the short version for now.)
In the last couple days I was remembering how I first began connecting with A Course In Miracles (ACIM) in Escondido, California where I had come to my first ACIM meeting at "Helping Hands" by way of Barry Koral. I realized that my arrival in Escondido directly from Glamis and reconnecting with Barry right at that time was possible because of when I left early that fateful morning. And realizing this I immediately became grateful for the "treatment" I had experienced with the "gun-toter"! I I thanked God for causing all these things to work together for a greater good!
