ALKALINE / ACID BALANCE.

Generally there are foods and substances which either lower or raise the Ph of the digestive tract,to a greater or lesser degree. The intake of food in a general sense should be in a 60/40 ratio, ie. 60% alkaline forming and 40% acid forming.You could say alkalising/acidifying.Again there will be some who already know which is which but here they are for the un-initiated.For folks who suffer prolonged high acidity the obvious thing would be to alter the 60/40 ratio accordingly and conversely on the alkaline side.

If you look at the diets of most you will probably find they are very acidic foods, which means that down the track you could run into some health problem.

Foods are grouped in acid/alkaline as follows: All fruits and vegetables are alkaline to a greater or lesser degree. All meats, grains, breads, dairy products, alcohol and other beverages such as tea coffee and soft drinks are acidifying.
