My unique approach to food and diet evolved from parallel journeys of personal and academic experimentation. By exploring experientially, as well as intellectually, a wide variety of dietary approaches, I began seeing beyond external inconsistencies, focusing instead on context and individual awareness. I developed the understanding that lasting dietary and lifestyle change is best achieved through seeing, accepting, and experiencing the motivations behind choices; admitting and understanding the outcomes of choices; and clearly defining the outcomes desired. This process develops the tools and skills needed to navigate the unending maze of seemingly conflicting information relentlessly delivered by science and culture. Because of my history, training, and experience, I consider myself an advocate and facilitator of personal responsibility in dietary choice.
